Kofi Kinaata, Ghana’s new musician says Charterhouse; organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) won’t be fair to the upcoming music artistes if his songs, “Susuka” and “Campaign” don’t win any awards at the music awards 2016.
He said, now that his song “Susuka” has gain much popularity, by looking at the work I put into it, in the case that it doesn’t get any award, certainly upcoming artistes will be debilitated and discouraged, and they will not do good songs.
While premiering his new delicate tempo romantic single ‘Sweetie Pie’ on radio channel with Amanda Jissih, the Fanti rapper said this.
Donzy, another music artist, who was also in the studio with Kofi to debut his new single hit, also repeated remarks of Kofi.
He said that if melodies like “Susuka” and “Campaign” don’t get any nominations in the VGMAs 2016, it will dishearten youthful and up and coming artistes who are admiring any likes of Sarkodie and EL. They won’t invest extra effort to do best song; they’ll simply do any party songs which won’t help their music career.
Donzy said, on what inspired ‘Susuka’, he and Kofi Kinaata were at birthday party of Kinaata’s girlfriend at Labadi Beach when he just got the idea of singing a song.
