Through Widows Alliance Network (WANE), more than 400 widow groupings have been made in Ghana, with membership growing over 8,000 nationwide.
Mama Zimbi has also disclosed that the annual National Widows Alliance Conference (NAWAC-2016) will draw together more than 3,000 widows from all over Ghana on one platform to nurture strength and a sense of determination on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, La in Accra.
According to Mama Zimbi, the conference proceeds to serve as the perfect dialogue platform for the advocacy of a comprehensive policy and legal direction for raising the standards of widows in Ghana.
The theme for NAWAC-2016 is ‘Empowering Women for the Future’ and also to celebrate the United Nations International Widows Day.
