Ghanaian Gospel singer, DSP Kofi Sarpong
In opposition to common assumption in some show business circles that Ghanaian Gospel singer, DSP Kofi Sarpong really doesn’t deserve to be in the nomination of the Artist of the Year category at the current year’s annual prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), but the artist believes that he has endeavored to procure that nomination, and VGMA Board wasn’t biased in my case.
Last Friday, he told Showbiz Media that, “By considering the total number of performances I have done so far in this year under audit both at corporate occasions and church festivals, I truly should be in that category. Also, there are numerous Saturdays that I perform at three to four programs so you can envision that it has been a considerable measure of diligent work”.
He further included. “We have done our part of work and it is evident that individuals are watching, I will be happy in the event that I win Artist of the Year however if it goes to any of alternate musical artists, it’s fine since they have likewise done their bit.”
Gospel singer has been nominated in 4 categories of music awards namely, Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year and he is very hopeful about taking home an award of Gospel Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.
On asking, how he felt about nominated in four categories, musician said, “I feel very great and humbled, I am exceptionally glad, at any rate, it lets me know that my work is being valued. We express gratefulness to God.”
He included that he was fully satisfied by his nominations in awards category, “I don’t know how the board of the awards goes about their work yet I am contended, individuals have called to praise me which goes to say that all Ghanaians are content with my four nominations.”
