Ohemaa Mercy, known in private life as Mercy Twum-Ampofo has been nominated for Ghana Blogging and Social Media Awards 2016. The ‘Aseda’ hit maker was nominated in two categories, the “Artiste with Best Social Media Appearance” and “Artiste with Best YouTube Account” respectively.
She got nominated because of her regular contact with her fans on the social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Some artists who got nominations in the awards were Shatta Wale, Mr. Eazi, Wiyaala, Benedicta Gafah, Sarkodie and a few others.
The online public vote and expert judging will be declared through Twitter and Facebook account of Blogging Ghana on Wednesday March 16, 2015. Voting will also begin on the same day.
Ohemaa Mercy is Ghanaian contemporary gospel musician. She was born in Weija in Accra but mostly spent her life in Koforidua. She shot into limelight when she released her first ever album titled “Adamfo Papa”. She got seven nominations at the Ghana Music Awards 2006 but could not make it through. But after that she won the Discovery of the year in the Gospel Music Awards the same year.
In 2007, the gospel mistress released her second album dubbed “Edin Jesus” which sold sold 875,000 copies within 6 months of its release.
