Ghanaian hiplife artist, Kwaw Kese, popularly known as King of the street has asked DJ’s of Ghana to play more Ghanaian songs on radio stations and decrease the measure of broadcast time they provide for playing foreign tracks particularly Nigerian tracks.

Born Emmanuel Botchwey said that Nigerian DJ’s never ever play Ghanaian songs on their radio channels and he doesn’t see the requirement for Ghanaian DJ’s to be playing and promoting their tracks here in Ghana.

Hiplife musician said at the Ghana DJ’s Awards, “If you ever got a chance to go to Nigeria, you will see that their DJ’s never play a Ghanaian song and you would not even hear our songs on the daily basis but here in our country, it’s totally opposite from that. Our DJ’s often play their songs, we are not saying that don’t play Nigerian tracks at all, however rather at any rate give more airtime to playing our own Ghanaian songs, it’s my request to all DJ’s play our songs also little.” He nearly pleaded.

Musician revealed all this recently on the stage, while performing one of the acts on the night at Ghana DJ’s Awards took place at the AICC.
