Wiyaala
Wiyaala, the Upper West musician would be performing at the world’s popular music gala which would be arranged in the ancient Charlton Park, an estate of Wiltshire in the United Kingdom during the last week of July 2016.
WOMAD, established by Peter Gabriel in 1982, has conducted events in more than thirty countries. These auspicious events were undoubtedly a source of enjoyment for millions of audience all around the world.
While talking about this festival which promotes cultural diversity, Peter Gabriel said, “Music being the universal language, connects different casts of people and hence banishes the concept of racism.
Wiyaala, who would be performing for one hour at the festival said, “I am honored to receive this invitation. My dream to present Ghana in front of the whole world through my talent has come true. “Dream big and do everything possible to achieve” is my message to all Africans. Through our passion, we will build our country’s image”
Wiyaala, from the Upper West Ghana is undoubtedly a brilliant performer. She won many awards such as Vodafone Icons Reality Show in 2012, Best Female Singer and Songwriter at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2015, Most Promising Artiste and Revelation of Africa at The All Africa Music Awards 2014.
