Nana Yaa
Ghanaian talented singer, Nana Yaa has stated recently that she was anticipating very little to be nominated in the category of Female vocalist of the year in annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2016 because she released her hit single, ‘Ego be’ just six months ago.
She said, “I expected very least that I would be selected due to the reason that I just came into the secular music with my single ‘Ebo be’ just before 6 months, I was expecting that other female musicians who are making songs for a long time will be nominated and so it was a major stun for all us in the music industry.”
Nana Yaa told Kojo Preko Danquah on Entertainment show, Saturday that she is very happy with the ratings of how much her hit single enjoy air play.
Nana Yaa, who is a daughter of Ghanaian popular musician Pat Thomas, has worked with different amazing musical artists for example Osibisa, Tagoe Sisters, Sonnie Badu, Becca, Okyeame Kwame, Rex Omar, and many among others. She is grateful to all music lovers and her fans, music awards organizers and management for this massive support.
As per her, she at first expected to star, musician EL on her brand new single ‘Handkerchief’ but after that when plan didn’t work in a right way she picked dancehall artist, Samini and he did unfathomably well on her new track.
She is very shocked to be nominated in this toughest category. The other contestants in the category of ‘Female vocalist of the year’ are Irene Logan, Yaa Yaa, Efya, Adina and MzVee.
