Kobina Amissah-Sam who performed the character of Agu’s father in the famous Beasts of No Nation film has revealed that he got the opportunity to play a role in Beasts of No Nation due to his hair style.
As stated by him, John Dumelo, Jim Iyke and many other good artistes auditioned for different characters but did not succeed.
In response to a question about the reason of his selection for the character of Agu’s father in famous film “Beasts of No Nation”, he said that when he entered the auditioning room, the director said yes because he has got that African looks which are the requirement for the character of Agu’s father. That’s why he thinks that his hair style played an important role in acquiring the major part in the popular film. Many great actors also auditioned such as John Dumelo, Jim Ike among others.
When asked about his feelings about Abraham Attah winning many awards, presenting awards on Oscar’s stage and getting many brand endorsements, the actor said, “Sometimes I become jealous that why many of us are not getting what we deserve but that’s how life is and that’s how we humans are. I feel it’s his time and we all must support him.”
He lightheartedly added,”But if I will receive an interview call from States, I will swiftly go.”
Actor, Kobina Sam performed the character of Agu (Abraham Attah’s) father and appeared as Ama K Abebrese’s husband in the Beasts of No Nation film.
