Rapper, Edem
Renowned award winning artist, Edem has adulated his progenitors for their leading part in Ewe rap yet is feeling very proud for bringing constancy up to this point in the minimal known field of Ewe rap.
He expressed that while several rappers just began rapping in Ewe, he has figured out how to do it reliably and consistently.
With the name Ayigbe Edem, he burst onto Ghana music industry and started working under the name Edem. He released his first studio album in the year 2009, January titled ‘The Volta Regime’.
As a product of two years of studio recordings and working hard with popular music and record producer, Hammer of The Last Two, this debut album came out.
Talking in a meeting with host, Kojo Yankson on radio channel in the Super Morning Show Friday, Edem expressed that in spite of the fact that there were pacesetters, but he is the one and only who has done rap music consistently in Ewe for which he is very proud and excited.
He recognized Chicago and others for establishing the foundation of Ewe rap.
The hit rapper of ‘Nyedzilo’ clarified that his music is roused by the way that “I take pride in my origins, Volta”
