You may have noticed that the Ghanaian well-known on-screen character, Clement Bonney generally known as Mr Beautiful in the film industry, has been off our screens for quite a while. You would barely see him in a new Kumawood movie.
Rumors are circulating that the main reason behind, he is not getting any further roles in the upcoming films is the ruling part National Democratic Congress (NDC), since he is a campaigner for President John Mahama. But Mr Beautiful has totally denied all the rumors.
While speaking to the host of the show, when inquired as to why he is not being seen on the screens recently and whether it’s because of his association with NDC?
He replied hurriedly, ‘No, it’s not as a result of my association with NDC and President John Mahama. I’m not being highlighted in films recently because of my dialect. I speak Fante and you know Twi is transcendently the most used local dialect here in Ghana’.
As indicated by him, ‘His Fante lingo is the basic reason he’s not getting any further roles in the films but rather not his affiliation with NDC. So he also said, I think I should change my dialect and started speaking Twi, but NDC is not the reason at all’.
He in any case, beseeched Ghanaians to endure other people’s party and should remember that here in our homeland, Ghana, we have Freedom of Speech and Association.
