As general elections 2016 are drawing near and only a few months far from today. So, one of the best Ghanaian boxer, Bukom Banku, real name Braimah Kamoko, has called upon the former Ghanaian President Jerry John Rawlings as well as his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, to stay committed to the ruling party, NDC.
He said their present position, status and impact in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were certain, the main motivation behind why they ought to stay committed.
As indicated by him, as an affirmed member of the party, he was stressed over the appearing bolster the Rawlingses provided for the flag bearer of the opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in their late remarks, activities and inaction. It made him scared that is Rawlingses going to change the party.
He said, “How can you take us to the riverside, deep inside the river and jump out and leave us alone inside,” Banku wondered, referring to what “looks like a departure of the Rawlingses from the NDC”.
He proceeded, the Rawlingses must be very clear on their dedication to the NDC or in the matter of ‘whether the members who shaped the party are no more committed keen on the party’.
This, Bukom Banku showed, would empower him (Banku) to prompt himself on whether to leave or stay in the NDC.
General elections 2016 are slated for the 7th of the November, 2016.
