Maame Dokono
Ace Ghanaian actress and TV personality, Maame Dokono privately known as Grace Omaboe, has praised the Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA), which is a movie awards scheme in Africa for admiring best actors and actresses.
According to veteran actress, GMAA is the best awarding scheme among other awarding schemes in the entire Africa.
Member of Grand Jury of the awards said, ‘In my point of view, it is the best in Africa’ at the Launch and Nominees Announcement at the Tang Palace Hotel, Accra.
As per her, the GMAA is not the same as the other movie awards in Africa since they pay special mind to the best and finest movie.
She said, I was analyzing the movies submitted this year, and I am very happy to see that this year’s movies are good as compared to last year.
Commenting further on the Golden Movie Awards, she said, “The GMAA is relatively different awards scheme if we compare with other movie awards due to the fact that we choose from everywhere throughout the continent of Africa. Generally, we look for the most excellent movie. We really search for the best and we take time for this.”
She added, “The jury sat for over two to three weeks selecting from over a hundred films. It was really difficult because most of the movies that (were submitted) came this year were very very good and we have been able to come out with the nominees.”
