Mark Okraku-Mantey
The chief executive officer of Slip Music, Mark Okraku-Mantey has declared that Ghanaians are too quick to criticize Kumasi produced movies.
According to him, the producers are making good use of equipment and knowledge at their disposal. In his interview he claimed that he won’t defend Kumasi movie producers for the purpose that they are not doing their best. He also said that creators of movies in local language have not received such support from these critics. Therefore, they should not be quick to declare their work as rubbish.
He stated that:
“I won’t defend Kumasi movie producers on anything but to say they are not doing their best, I will fight for them. Movie making often do not survive in smaller populated environments. Record will tell you that those who seem to be doing so well are favored by population. Our people do not have the technology others are using.”
Further he answered those people who criticized Kumasi movie producers. He said that those who criticize film makers, let them make an attempt to shoot a fifteen minutes thing.
He said that:
“Those who slam film makers, let them make an attempt to shoot a fifteen-minute thing.”
