Popular Ghanaian highlife artiste, Henry De Mensah, popularly known in the music industry as Nana Quame has claimed that he is the best musician in Ghana.
The Male Vocalist of the Year 2003 made this statement during his recent interview on Radio GIJ’s ‘Weekend Train’, the multi award winning musician said that he is the best singer in Ghana and claiming that no one musician is better than him in Ghana.
He stated:
“No one in Ghana sings better than I do. I have been to the studios with them. I know what they can do. I know their strengths and I know their weakness. Who? They should come out.”
When the show host asked him that who is best? Ofori Amponsah or Nana Quame…???
He answered:
“Put the two of us on stage and judge. Simple.”
He achieved an award at the 2002 Ghana Music Award for ‘Original Song of the Year’ and the ‘Best Male Vocalist for the year’ 2003. Nana’s style of music has the fusion of Ghanaian highlife and R & B, he also sings original Ghanaian music Yaaponsa.
