Wiyaala: The industry doesn’t really support females

The black diva, Wiyaala has complained about lack of support for fellow female musicians in Ghana. She disclosed her comments during interview for the WOMAD International Arts Festival 2016 in UK.

The award-winning actress reflected her comments when she asked by question that how industry response to females in Ghana doing music. In answer, she disclosed that in Ghana the industry didn’t support females. She illuminated that if a male musician drop a song which didn’t make any sense but the next day, it is all over the place and comparing to female artist. Although, she contain good vocals and nice message, nobody cares about it.

She disclosed that:

“In Ghana the industry does not really support females. A boy would drop a song, which even some don’t make sense but the next day, it is all over the place. But when a female drops a song, with good lyrics and nice message, nobody cares about it. When I question why female musicians are preserved that way, the answer they gave me was that, women are hard to manage. But with the guys, they are easy to manage. And I’m like, aren’t the women who gave birth to you the men? So why neglect them?”
