Kwesi Nyamekye
The well-known producer and film director, Rev. Samuel Kwesi Nyamekye has announced that he is the originator of Akan movies in Kumasi. He disclosed that his inauguration of Akan movies not only in Ghana but the world as a whole.
He issued his statement when film director Isaac Rockson claimed that Rev. Samuel Nyamekye of Miracle Films is not the originator of Akan Moives in Kumasi.
He stated that Samuel Nyamkye has been claiming recognition for been the brain behind akan movies in Kumasi of which is far from the actualities.
He stated that:
‘’Miracle films cannot claim originator of Akan movies in Kumasi, it was Alexi Boat who brought akan movies in Kumasi and Miracle was an duty boy at Alexi Boat shop’’
On this statement Rev Samuel Nyamekye reflected his reaction quickly. He stated that no one can doubt his contribution in the film industry.
“Indeed alexi boat was my boss back in the days but he was selling foreign Cds ‘’ I’m the first person to produce local movies in Kumasi’’
Miracle Films indicated that, he produced more than five movies on the market before alexi boat started expressing into film manufactures.
He said in early 90’s, he was the first person to commercialize native movies and people can identify that if they check his movie records.
