On Adom FM last Saturday Nana Ama Mcbrown told Kojo Preko Danquah that “I am much disappointed with the personality of Smith because I am not expecting this type of statement has to become from him. We have been doing this for a long time, so for him, I feel there is something went wrong somewhere. If his feelings about the Akan movies are not to be regarded then why he is giving opinions like the FIPAG congress was held here in Kumasi and not in Accra.

It means that the people in the Akan movie industry are they doing the work so we have been recognized and to get famous for that. People, who is producing glamour movies just or fame, don’t know that Kumawood has more producers. So what is he talking about?”

Nana Ama Mcbrown added “excuse me to say that glamour movies been shooting like the Yvonne Nelson’s and the Jackie Appiah’s are only selling and marketing their images to the world and not anything Ghanaian to the people.

What we are giving is selling the culture of Ghana to the people better than the glamour movies. Nana Ama Mcbrown added that in her opinion Smith should give advice to the directors and the producers to work on the quality of the stuff not on the quantity. He is very close to the directors even then she was shocked that he is saying stuff like this.

Nana Ama Mcbrown commended producers and directors who are in the ‘Kumawood’ industry describing them as a talented people who have the aim of selling the brand and culture of Ghana.
