The public relations officer of Charter-house, organizer of the annual ‘Ghana Music Awards’, George Quaye has specified that he does not pledge to suggestions that singers should release songs close to the end of the year for sake of awards.

Eight months into the year and music fans cannot locate a prominent hit song leaving people with different expectations including the target of musicians to earn nominations and later win awards with their late releases.

But George Quaye in his interview counselled musicians not to do songs with the primary goal of winning awards.

He mentioned that:

‘I will impulse musicians not to do songs because they want to be bestowed. If any award scheme identifies you, it is a quill in your cap. It is an additional impetuous that’s going to impulse you to do better in your occupation. I really don’t think singers should delay their release time because they want to be deliberated for an award.’

Further George Quaye stated that the idea that releasing a song close to the end of the year will win one award is not completely true. To him, ones a song turn into a hit, it stands the opportunity of winning awards.
