The Ghanaian gospel musician, Nacee disclosed that Indigo O2 event organizers are not ready to pay the amount due gospel singers so until they are ready to pay what gospel singers deserve, the history of no Ghanaian gospel artist performing at Indigo at the O2 will last.
In his interview he said that that if event organizers give them such podiums and promote it as they do for nonspiritual musicians, gospel artists will also give event goers value for their money as some Ghanaian hip-life and dance-hall singers have done.
‘The cooperative body wants us to give the word of God for free. When you give them a charge then they approach you for a show taking into contemplation your band and other factors, they question why you are marketing the word of God.
I remember Socrate saying some time ago that gospel singers should accomplish for free. It will be hard for event organizer to pay an artist what is due them if they do not comprehend that at that level it is our work. If they think we should give for free then I am not sure we can accomplish at Indigo.’
He congratulated Shatta Wale for a popular concert he put composed at Indigo at the O2 on Friday, August 26.
