Sarkodie, the two times winner of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artist of the Year award has congratulated to new dancehall artist, Stonebwoy on winning the topmost award at this year’s event.

Sarkodie said in his message, “We were both competing for the same awards, but in the end – the better among us wins it and Stonebwoy deserved it.”
Stonebwoy is Reggae and dancehall artist, known by his real name Livingstone Etse Satekla was crowned the Artiste of the Year at the 16th edition of the VGMA at Accra International Conference Centre Saturday night.
He faces some tough competition from the giants of Ghanaian music industry includes Sarkodie, Daddy Lumba, Guru, Edem, MzVee, and Samini to win the award.
Other than this, Stonebwoy also won two more awards including, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and the Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year for his song Baafira.
Sarkodie message on twitter in praise of Stonebwoy,

The winner of the 2010 and 2012 editions of awards, he has not come to attend this year’s awards ceremony.
Sarkodie has received nominations in 11 categories, and won three including Hiplife/Hip Hop Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration and Vodafone Song of the Year.
