On Friday, April 24, the Live in Accra Jazz Festival featuring an array of local and foreign artistes will take place at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill with some surprise performance by Freshly Ground, a group of musicians from Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa.
The Ghanaian jazz musician, Big Wellington, will together perform with the Maher Beauroy Trio from Martinique / USA, and will rock the stage at the Alliance Française on Saturday, April 25, while on the other hand, the 251 Jazz Band from Accra will also be in line to entertain the fans at the Alliance Française on Sunday, April 26.
The Electric Band along with pianist, Victor Dey and Drummer, Frank Kissi will perform on Tuesday, April 28. Colter Harper, the American composer, guitarist and music professor will perform alongside Alidu Mohammed – the United States- based Ghanaian musician with the Bizung Band at the same venue on Thursday, April 30.
A special International Jazz Day performance with the Ghanaian jazz musician, Ruzika Okera will take place on Thursday, April 30 which will be hosted by the Alliance Française.
Becca and Kwabena Kwabena together will Rock the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill on Friday, May 1.
Pat Thomas and Ebo Taylor, the Highlife great’s performance will close the show festival with a concert at the Alliance Française on Saturday, May 2.
Also, a number of workshops, seminars and lectures form an integral part of the festival will take place.
The 2015 Live in Accra Jazz Festival is being supported by the following – Institut Français (Ghana), Alliance Française, ATW, Jazz Ouaga, Ashesi University, +233 Jazz Bar & Grill, Goethe-Institut and Okera Inn.
