There are thousands of faults in the Ghanaian music industry, Kiki Banson said, and all the blame it on MUSIGA, the music body that is supposed to put structures in place for the musicians.
He was speaking on Viasat 1’s “Boys Boys” TV show and talks on every small issue that is going wrong in the music industry, added,
“Sarkodie is on a mission that he has set for himself, he is right on the track, as he is still relevant, very consistent, and absolutely creative, indeed, he is just one of a kind.”
He will be even bigger by now, if the various structures within the Ghanaian music industry were working well. To be honest, there are no marketing structures in the industry.
Bice Osei Kuffour, the MUSIGA’s President has to kick some people out, replace them with some talented people, who know how to manage the affairs at MUSIGA.
In reply to one question about how much respect he has for the Ghanaian music industry, Kiki Banson said,
“No respect at all, nothing is happening in the industry right now, no structure, no one to guide them, our musicians are creative but not been paid well for their creative works.”
And how can we change this Ghanaian music scene, asked by the host of the program.
He added, “Very simple, bring on Kwesi Twum of Multimedia and Kwame, they can take our industry to new heights, and we should learn something from the Nigerian radio and TV stations, what they have done for P Square, D Banj, Femi Kuti, 2Face to promote them.”
But first of all, we should respect each other, educate ourselves and work hard, said Kiki Banson.
