The legendary musician, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley claimed that he was that first Ghanaian musician who rocked the stage of Apollo Theater in the US.
During interview he unveiled that he delivered his performance on particular stage in 1991. He added that he was only musician at that time who performed more than one song.
It’s not the first time that any musician is claiming that he used the stage of Apollo for the first time as belonging to Ghana. Last year the rap master, Sarkodie rocked particular stage and news came on screen that he was the first Ghanaian to perform at the Apollo Theater.
After hearing this news the legendary musician, Okyeame Quophi quickly reacted to it and unveiled that hip-life duo Akyeame along with Daddy Lumba already have rocked the stage.
The popular stage is famous because many international artists performed on it. Few names that performed on particular stage are Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Elton John and many more.
