Fred Nuamah, the organizer of the 7th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards has said that “The prescribed attire for the awards is tuxedo or black tie for the men and evening/dinner gown for the ladies. No short dresses will be allowed,” indicating that the actors and patrons who intend to go slay the red carpet should get the memo.
He also pointed that this year’s edition will be held at the Kempinski Hotel and will not accommodate a large number of patrons and very limited tickets will be put out on sale. The CEO of the Awards revealed that over 500 films were submitted including many coming from the Northern and Ashanti Regions
Mr. Nuamah also commented that, the film industry is not dying as insisted by some industry players and movie followers the issue is that, movies are not being released on DVDs anymore. But this is happening in Hollywood as well. They are sent to IROKO and Netflix and others.
The 7th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards is to be held on December 4, 2016 and will be telecasted live on DSTv and other local channels.
