Yaa Pono a Ghanaian rapper and front line artiste of Uptown Energy Crew says that because of being “real” in his songs, he is unable to get a radio airplay.

In an interview he stressed that as a lyricist he has to write everything which he feels and being real makes it not being playable on radio but still he is an intelligent artiste and his fans love his songs & lyrics.
The rapper added that due to his realness, his track titles and lyrics are often interpreted wrongly on hearing for the first time but when they are listened carefully the listeners recognize that it’s restrictive yet it encourages youth a lot.It even provides the education to be one and co-exist with others.
Yaa Pono has always been seriously criticized for his lyrical content as some people think he is too explicit; a situation Yaa Pono calls as being ‘real’.
He has released his latest single entitled “One Roll” which emphasized the need of unity and the need to come together as one people as it is not a Ghana based song but the principle is applicable to the whole world.Other hit tracks of Yaa Pono include ‘Amen’, ‘The Psalms’ mixtape, ‘I Dey Feel You Die’ and ‘Go Harder’
