The current chairperson of EC, Charlotte Osei came on screen to clarify the duty of Electoral Commission. According to her, it is major duty of EC to declare results accurately not quickly.
The general elections of Ghana occurred on last Wednesday. Supporter and voters are keenly waiting for results. On other hand media is continuously dropping the results collected on provincial level.
Somehow it is increasing pressure on EC to declare the final results. Under this pressure Charlotte Osei came out and issued such statement.
‘We want to restate that the Commission does not declare results based on results of political parties. The duty we obligated to Ghana is not to declare results quickly. It is the duty to declare results accurately.’
