It is reported by BBC Africa that Guinea’s government has temporarily stopped the beauty shows after the skimpy garments in the swimsuit section caused violence.
According to the sources, the participants walked in front of the Prime Minister Mamady Youla in bikinis outfits on Saturday and were receiving much criticism on the social media.
As this tweeter said that this competition was “an embarrassment” to Guinean culture.
One newspaper, Flash Guinee, asked in its front-page that the prime minister was inspiring prostitution.
So, in this situation, the ban is totally a new code of consciences has been drawn up, Culture Minister Siaka Barry expressed.
He further added that a committee has been established to come up with that code.
Moreover, he described that the government has ended its contract with the organisers of the beauty show.
