2015 Black Canadian Award: Edem won the Best International Act Africa

At the 2015 Black Canadian Award, Edem has won the Best International Act Africa.

In a candidacy category of seven top leading African artists; Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Oritse Femi (Nigeria),Davido (Nigeria), Teeyah (Ivory Coast) and Mafikizolo (South Africa) the CEO of VRMG Edem succeeded.

The Canadian Awards Academy’s Executive Producer, Paul Ade says, “Congratulations to all the nominees, African music has really developed and it’s nice to know it’s now trending in almost every city in Canada”

The awards show was organized in Toronto Canada on Saturday on June 6th 2015. For the second year in a role Destra Garcia of Trinidad won Best International Act Caribbean.

Emmanuel Jal won has won for Best African Style Artist and the other leading nominees are  Trinity Mpho,Ozee B aka Ozee the Boss, Akin, Kobena Aquaa-Harrison and Akin.

Other prize-winner for the night were  Amanda Brugel for Best female Actor, Elijha Hammill who won for Best Male Actor, KellyLee Evans won for Best Soul Act, Dan-e-o for Best Hip Hop Act, Lisa Banton for Best RnB Act, Tasha T winner for Best Caribbean style Artist &  Best Urban dance winner went to Shameka Blake.

Flo from Winnipeg won the best Artist on the Rise, Spoken word winner was Dwayne Morgan, Latoya Forever won Best Entertainer and Scott Laurie won Best Media Celebrity.

DJ Mel Boogie won for Best DJ(Disk jockey),Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir won Best Gospel Group,Trish won for Best Pop Artist and Donnett Thompson-Hall won for Best Gospel Artist.

In the Fashion category, Beni Boo won the award, ThePurrr by PepperBrooks won for Best Blogger,The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill won for Best Writer & Literary work and Best photography won by Lawrence Kerr.

Because of countless votes, tours and industry work,Solomon Wunibee “The Psalmist”, a Top Gospel nominee was also awarded with Best Male Gospel Artist.

The all performances was outstanding and the all credits goes to DOAHL Academy, Leila Dey,  SKIBU, , Lisa Banton, Xolisa, Sunset Service, The Psalmist, and Mel C.

The Black Canadian Award 2015 was surely night of enjoyment, marvelous performances and honor.
