Africa Comedy awards are launched to encourage and appreciate the work of comedians all over Africa. But they have a very special relation with Ghana because the first ever awards ceremony to promote comedy on the African continent has been launched in Accra.
Laugh Buzz Africa has arranged these awards to bring all the talent of comedy under one roof to promote their work and encourage newbies to come in this field by giving honor to the extraordinary individuals and industry players.
The contest will be under the categories like Promising Comedian of the Year, Standup Comedian of the Year, International Comedian of the Year, Male Comedian of the Year, Female Comedian of the Year.
Some of the honor awards will be African Humanitarian, African Comic Movie of the Year, African Comic TV Show of the Year and African Comic Actor of the Year.
The inaugural award ceremony was lunched in Accra and the Co-CEO of Laugh Buzz Africa, HarietAdansi has said that the people of all ages are excited about these awards because Africa understands the need of laughter today. A good laugh is aeasiest and cheapest therapy to release stress, he said
