Paapa Yankson
The former superstar of Ghanaian music industry, Paapa Yankson will be honored at the 18th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards with Lifetime Achievement Award.
The reliable media site break this news however VGMA’s authority yet not verified this news officially. Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is Ghana’s biggest musical award show and its Lifetime Achievement Award is considered as biggest and honorable award of Ghanaian music industry.
There is no such doubt about the contribution of legendary musician, Benjamin Paapa Kofi Yankson to the music industry. He released fifteen outstanding and blockbuster albums of his era. His fans can never forget his hit tracks like Wiase Mu Nsem, Show Your Love, Wo Yere Anaa Wo Maame, and Tena Menkyen among others.
He was also instrumental in the prediction of music bands into critical national commendation; the Western Diamond Band, The Gold Nuggets Band and the Carousel Seven Band.
He was international musician and he rocked the stages of such countries like the US, Canada, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Holland, Nigeria, Benin and the Ivory Coast.
Unfortunately the musician is now wheel-chair bound but media also reported that he will make special appearance at such event and he will perform two songs as well.
