King of rap music, Sarkodie
The most talented rapper, Sarkodie had most interesting award winning history as well.
He is ranked as the most consistent artist in Ghana who sits on top with regards to achievements when it comes to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
He was nominated over fifty times and he won almost eighteen awards including artist of the VGMA, and together with the group, VIP, he holds the record as the artist to win the ultimate ‘Artist of the Year’ twice in 2010 and 2012.
But you will be shocked to know that last time Sarkodie picked the ‘Overall Artist of the Year’ prize was in 2012. From that time he didn’t receive any Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in category of ‘Artist of the year.’ Although musician is continually scoring the hit business.
This time he is also nominated in ‘Artist of the year’ but he is facing tough competition against E.L. Stonebwoy, MzVee, Medikal and Joe Mettle.
If he wins, Sarkodie would set another record, the first artist to win the ‘Artist of the Year’ prize for the 3rd time.
