Shegah
The expert musician, Shegeh Styla famously known as Shegah disclosed that none of the female musicians deserve the crown of Dancehall Queen.
She appeared in an interview which was conducted by famous journalist, Lexis Bill. She said she label herself as Godmother because she really worked hard to achieve such title. On other hand, no female artist had established such work in dancehall field that they will own such title.
Few of her words are mention as below:
‘Since I am the godmother, I am indeed the one who should be able to determine who the ‘Dancehall Queen’ of Ghana is but I will not because I have not seen enough to crown anybody. All the ladies in dancehall are contributing to the development of the art form. To be a queen is not just the music because somebody may have even written the song.’
She advised that if Ghanaian female artists are willing to be crowned with such title. So they should hold the microphones and come into the streets and battle for such title.
It’s clear as crystal that two legendary female musicians are running after this title. The names of these musicians are Kaakie and MzVee. They are most popular dancehall musician in Ghana and Ghanaian people always appreciate their efforts.
