The popular designer, Elikem Kumordzi disclosed that dancehall musician; Stonebwoy does a lot of English songs which gives him international fame.
The designer slammed Shatta Wale over his post, ‘My B.E.C.E certificate sef ano know where edeh..Then we deh come worry about BET…#Money deh call me for my brain.’
He responded Shatta Wale as, ‘You can’t say, “I don’t know where my BECE Certificate sef dey”….act l…are you telling me he wouldn’t have appreciated if he got a nomination and a BET is a big deal.’
Further in his interview he disclosed the reason that why Stonebwoy is more popular than Shatta Wale in international community. He said first of all, to be recognized internationally, the person must need to be recognized at home. He added that Shatta Wale’s Ghana music award controversy also disturbed his image.
Secondly he said that Stonebwoy sort of appeals more to the international crowd than Shatta Wale, so most of Shatta Wale’s song are in the local language and he appeals to the masses at large and they love him but Stonebwoy does a lot of English songs and he is going outside the borders to shoot videos and it also gives him international recognition.
