Ghanaian musicians, Shatta Wale and Yaa Pono
Ghanaian controversial rapper, Yaa Pono who is likewise the Chief Executive Officer of Uptown Energy record label has recently uncovered that if Ghanaian dancehall king Shatta Wale will ask him for a collaboration then he will accept it despite of their recent fight.
In the start of the current year, the two well-known artists got engaged in a rap beef which got major publicity of the general population as well as of the media. It all happened just because of the misunderstanding between their managers and organizers of the show which lead to a major rap battle.
Despite of the fight, last Tuesday, while speaking exclusively to host of the show, Yaa Pono said, if Shatta Wale will offer me a feature then I won’t say no because I don’t care when it comes to the music and rappers.
He said, ‘If dancehall artist Shatta Wale ask me for collaboration, I will definitely acknowledge it but I will listen to the song first. It’s obvious because when you want to feature another artist in your song, the to-be featured artist has to listen to the song first. I don’t know now however whoever asks me for a feature, I wouldn’t care about anything else’.
The ‘Gbee Naabu’ hit producer said, ‘It’s about music. I don’t have a choice. I don’t care about my relationship with the rapper. We as a whole make the music industry. If it’s beneficial for us, i bounce on it. If not, at that point no. the vibe matters a lot’.
