Hammer, Ghanaian Music Producer shares the argument about the organizers of the BET Awards, which having no or little regards for African musicians tempers on.
In a Facebook post on Monday The Ghanaian Music Producer Hammer has shared his opinion on the matter, He explains;
I want to break my silence on this BET SAGA Award. On this occasion I have heard Jay Foley’s point of view, Chris- Vincent Agyapong’s point of view, Fuse ODG’s point and Lilian and Blackson’spoint of view…But I am sorry to say even though Chris’s point is quite important that I am forced to see the logic in it.
At the BET Awards, I observed firsthand the efforts Lilian put in this African involvement……It was her baby.
I was surprised that she pushed and pushed even it was realized that nobody is more proud of her amongst the Africans than US Ghanaians.
The Ghanaians music producer stated that for moving forward, let’s forget about the performance and the number of audience of the BET experience considered for the Africans audience abroad.
My complaint is what’s the point is recognizing one African category if you cannot uncover that receiver to the main BET occasion audience where they would be at least seen by JAY Z, RICK ROSS or any of these great stars .
The Music producer declared that if you really want to give us a platform, then for God sake, it is only one category. Please make space on the big stage for them to receive that award and let expose them to relate the real American industry.
According to him, Fuse is right, I am sorry. Because the BET experience stage on the other hand it can be used in their performances to the African audience but absolutely not the award.
He stated that, mind you, when we deny that it’s backstage, it is not because it’s really behind the stage.it simply means not on the big stage.
