Musician, Stonebwoy
The internationally celebrated, Stonebwoy congratulated the fellow musician, Wizkid for winning ‘Best International Act Africa’ at the 2017 edition of the BET awards.
It’s quite sad news for Ghanaian fans that Stonebwoy lost a second time at the BET Awards as Nigeria’s Wizkid was announced the winner. Even though the main award ceremony, being held in Los Angeles United States, the winners in some categories including the ‘Best International Act – Africa’ are announced prior to the event.
The Best International Act award is handed at a private ceremony which seeks to recognize artistes from Africa and Europe, and is held the night before the main event.
Stonebwoy got his second nomination for the award in this year’s event alongside other African giants like Mr. Eazi, AKA, Nasty C, Babes Wodumo, Tekno, Davido, as well as eventual winner, Wizkid. He enjoyed a career boost in 2017 following collaborations with “Take Care” star, Drake; Chris Brown and his trending song “Daddy Yo” featuring Ghana’s Efya.
Stonebwoy, who only recently got married to his wife, Dr. Louisa Ansong, took to micro blogging social network, Twitter, to congratulate his Nigerian counterpart on the win. Stonebwoy added that it was a “well-deserved win” for Wizkid.
