Reggie Rockstone; BET not showing us respect

Reggie Rockstone is the grandpapa of hiplife. He has stated that Sarkodie and Stonebwoy both nominees should boycott the ceremony of the ended BET Awards.

Reggie Rockstone has explained, that my whole idea before they (Sarcoxie and Stonebwoy left was to boycott the ceremony. Stephen Appiah is my witness that I said it over and over again when we were on the journey to Kumasi for the donations game. He stated that he was wanted to tell Stonebwoy but people supposed that I should stop.

When the nominees boycott the ceremony, they would get the more publicity than how they are treated now, Reggie said.

He stated that many of African- American are pan-African and they are not aware what is going on. If they get to know in what ways they are treated then you will see the kind of support we will get.

He further stated that Nigerians will definitely support as too, because for anything they don’t need Awards, they are already rich and they need nothing else

Reggie mention that if we done boycotting the ceremony, it would  have enabled us and in this way it would have more publicity. This is what I am trying to say that BET Awards over the years have not shown respect in any single way. I think you know what BET stands for? The BET stands for Black Entertainment.

Reggie shared his frustration by saying that do you know the native land of the Black people? We have a whole continent. If you made trade for slave, they would not have been there and these are our direct siblings, Hip-Hop is from us, I always stated that very clearly.

Reggie Rockstone further stated that how you can Justin Bieber who is a pure white and other whites who use the niga niga words be awarded on stage and Africans are awarded back stage. He explain that we are kings and queens. I am so happy that somebody stood up and speak up. He declared that if you live on your knees, then you will never get anything to stand for. So look, I am Pan-African to the bone and I have always stated, if we boycott them they will certainly change.

Reggie stated that as nominees, the African Artistes foot their own bills to the event in Los Angeles, USA.

Reggie stated that if you pay everything yourself to the Awards’ it is very expensive. Can you guess when you are going with your crew and the amount involved? Only Nigerian can afford it and the Ghanaians always suffer ‘ruff’.

Fuse ODG stated that if we have boycotted, we would have had the support of the Nigerians immediately.

Wizkid threw his support behind him and Yemi Alade as well. If we had boycotted the BET Awards then we had the biggest publicity.

Reggie stated that when they perform, the people who sit at the main event, don’t witness it, although it is a big Award, it is fulfilling that we have won but on the same time we have to think for the future generation. So, you cannot continuously disrespect our Acts in this bad manners.
