Big Brother Africa has shut its door for Ghana over fear of Ebola. BBA organizers have reportedly rejected the candidates that would represent Ghana in Season 9.
According to sources in South Africa, where the reality show will kick in September, told the four candidates who made it through contestant were snubbed due to Ebola scare in the West African sub-region.
An official of BBA show revealed that the fresh auditions are being held to select new candidates from Ghana. The new auditions would open for Ghanaians in South Africa, as a precautionary step, though it is not clear whether the same process would implement on the other Ebola hit West African countries.
However, when the sources reached to reality show organizers they refused to comment.
Big Brother Africa is a popular TV programme in all over the continent, held annually in South Africa. It is produced by Endemol SA. BBA debut in 2003.
The contestants are sealed in house and try to avoid being evicted by viewers. The ultimate cash winning prize is US $300,000.
Contestant from 14 countries, including Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania, Botswana, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe take part in the show.
