Kofi Sarpong is a Gospel act superintendent. He has called on priests of the churches who arranged the music programs to accommodate for musicians when they call them into their churches.
Kofi Sarpong explains that our main purpose for going to the studio is to record with money. Sometime we perform at programs and they give us nothing except water in polyethene bags at the end of the program. Luckily I am a professional musician. So, I pay my support singers and composers with my own money after the shows.
He expressed that I am appealing this to our ministers and priests that they should look after of our musicians well. Other than that, it will come to a time that people will not be able to go to the studios and record another time. If you do not want me, my CD’s are available for you to buy and play at your programs. So why do you have to call me to come and perform individually. This is because my presence will make an impression on the show.
He further stated that, some musicians have nothing else doing to one side of music and their board cars and wear outfits to show up these programs and their expenditures do not care of.
He was giving an example, he supposed; “I met a well-known female gospel musician and in a discussion, she makes known that after ministering at a program, a lady come close to her and said she can tell that gospel musician, likes the specific footwear she was wearing because she has realized it on her on three different events wearing the same thing.”
SP Sarpong is known for his popular songs like Adom Bi, Meto Ndwom, Oyame Dadano, Ohaw Ne Obre, and Sacrifice.
