George Williams is Old-timer Ghanaian actor. He has praised young actor Majid Michel, as one of the best in the Ghanaian Movie industry in spite of his opinion that the industry is declining from the achievements of the past.
The man, affectionately denoted to as Mr. Addison, following his character in the popular 90s series, “Ultimate Paradise,” told the media that the movies produced in modern times are of bad quality.
He was mostly upset about the stress on the ‘juju’, witchcraft or superstitious movies, which have become the main theme for most locally, created movies.
When he was questioned about some of his beloved actor or actress in the industry, the veteran actor only talks about Majid Michel.
Majid is very careful and he works very hard. I wouldn’t praise some of the characters I found him in; nevertheless he is a very good actor” he prominent.
Even at age 86, Uncle George is still cheerful and fit.
George started his career in 1952 with stage acting and plays.
He later hit the screens with his first main role in the movie Genesis Chapter X a few years later.
Spending most of his working time in distribution and making a Commonwealth grant to study and work with the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, George Williams appears to have seen it all in the industry.
He is directing those seeking to realize superiority in the movie industry to search for educational and practical knowledge.
He expressed that you come to learn how to write script to start with; you got to learn how to perform and you got to learn to talk and do all those things. You cannot takeoff strip from all those things and say you are doing a movie. That is dishonesty. I have had the practice with people who unluckily have not been effectively schooled in the procedures of making a film and they are the people making films because they have a few coins in their pocket. I have found that it is difficult working with 90/95% of those people. What you see is disgraceful.
He is recommending those who are looking to achieve excellence in the movie industry to find educational and practical knowledge. “You go to school and that’s where you start from.
Then you go through learner ship and keep learning because life itself is a lesson.
