Mr.Attakora Manu has been battling with this strange disease for the past four years at his town Toase in the Atwima- Nwabiagya District.
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has proclaimed that the death of Attakora Manu, a previous executive member of MUSIGA in Kumasi.
His son expressed that, BB Attakora, Attakora Manu died in Toase his hometown in the Ashanti Region after a short sickness. He passed away at this down around 3 a.m at his Toase residence.
Atakora Manu was born at Toase in Ashanti in 1940. Attakora was a versatile composer, guitarist and a studio engineer.
He made a Performance Party which is known as the Princess Trio between 1963 and 1966.
He was earlier guitarist of the United Ghana Farmers Council Drama Troupe.
In 1967, he together with Kakaiku formed KAKAIKU No.2 Band with him as the Top guitarist.
Some of their hits are Ohoho Batani, Kookrokoo, Akwantu Mu Nsem, and Akyinkyina Akyinkyin.
In 1970, he accepts from KAKAIKU No.2 Band and in 1973; he was working as Studio Assistant by Ambassador Records where he re-grouped the Princess Trio.
Attakora’s selection contains the Disko Highlife, Afro Highlife, Bre bre Na Eye, Pim No Bi and Mena Awurade Be Nante among others.
His music has been designated as smooth and wonderful. Memorial declarations would be announced far ahead.
