Former President Kufuor celebrated 77th birthday with Ebo Whyte’s ‘Forbidden’

Previous President of Ghana John Kufuor celebrated his 77th birthday on December 8 and a hectic timetable outside Ghana, even after leaving office as a President, kept him from celebrated milestone completely.

Away from public scrutiny, the man famously known as the Gentle Giant, might have spent the day in his own extraordinary ways, yet none will surpass Tuesday night’s unique play staged in his honor at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

Individuals who matter in the circles of legislative issues, business, religions, games, music and even the political corps trooped to the venue in their numbers to give the previous president Kufuor a befitting birthday present.

The birthday present was an exceptional play, “Forbidden” by James Ebo Whyte of Roverman Productions.

The Accra International Conference Center was verging on filled to limit with dignitaries that included Mrs Theresa Kufuor, previous First Lady and wife of the previous President Kufuor; New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag-bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his wife Rebecca Akufo-Addo; Dzifa Abla Gomashie, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts; Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia.

Additionally, in participation were Kwadwo Mpiani, previous Chief of Staff; Alan Kyerematen, Kwame Addo-Kufuor, Rev Father Andrew Campbell, Bishop Charles Agyinasare, Joyce Aryee, Paul Afoko, Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, Dr. Joyce Aryee and a host of others.

The play, “Forbidden” which spellbound the consideration of the not very easy to-please supporters recount the account of the astounding change of the drug-addict child of a reverend minister.

The play ‘Forbidden’ is full of life’s plentiful lessons bound with a decent measurement of hilarity and amusingness and the prominent patrons including previous president Kufuor adored it.

The dignitaries were basically difficult to please at first. The play began off on a slow note for them. For just about 20 minutes, the Conference Center, aside from the sounds of the performers from the stage, was dead silent.
