Ghana Movie Awards
The 2015 Ghana Movie Awards will be held at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) today.
Ghanaian movie producers, who have exceeded expectations in 2015, would be honored at the ceremony.
Furthermore, of course, the crème de la crème of the Ghanaian film screens will be on celebrity central (red carpet) to show their elegant and stylish outfits.
Selections for the movie awards ceremony were released on December 18, 2015, with ‘Beasts of No Nation’ topping the rundown with 16 nominations.
English film ‘The Cursed Ones’ set second with 15 nominations. Ghana’s passionate epic, If Tomorrow Never Comes took after with 14 nominations.
Each of the three motion pictures got nominations in Best Picture, Directing, Sound Editing and Mixing, Cinematography, Production Design and different classes.
Eddie Nartey, Yvonne Nelson and Prince David Osei raised concerns about specific films that were nominated.
They contended that those productions were not Ghanaian enough to contend in Ghana.
Coordinators, they said, could have made international categories for such films.
The improvement brought on some division among industry partners with onlookers bringing up issues about today’s ceremony.
