Legal Practitioner Samson Lardy Ayenini says hiplife artist Wisa, might just pay a fine of GHc120, if he’s found guilty for exposing his manhood while performing on stage.

He stated that the fine is the maximum charge for the misdemeanor charge against the singer.

Eugene Ashie, famously known as Wisa, did the unimaginable while giving performance at the Decemba to Rememba concert on Dec 24.

During his performance on stage, the singer pulled down his boxers revealing his manhood, and afterwards started pushing behind a female dancer.

Though, Wisa and his management had apologised to Ghanaians for his indecent act in a statement.

After being charged with indecent exposure, he said in an interview, “I take all the blame on me, I totally agree with it; I’m ready to face the charges.”

Peculiarly, the musician pleaded no guilty to the charges when he appeared in Accra Court.

In court, his counsel Jerry Avenorgbor asserted that whatever Wisa did was just for the “beauty of entertainment” but people got him wrong. Later in an interview he claimed that the manhood Wisa displayed was a fake one.

“The law is clear, it’s a misdemeanor and its penalty is a maximum of GHc120. He will be fined, if he couldn’t pay the fine then he’ll be jailed,” he explained.

The legal practitioner added “I can’t see any judge saying he must pay the fine and at the same time go to jail. It’s a misdemeanor and in a misdemeanor if you don’t pay the fine then you only face imprisonment for a couple of weeks, the aim is just to warn you so you don’t get involved in the crime again,”

The legal practitioner denied arguments that Wisa’s apology will be unsuitable in court because of the legal stance taken by his lawyers.

“See the prosecutors, they’re not jokers. They didn’t enter the court to joke. They’ll take interviews or will just get the statement he issued and then they’ll tender in court. Unless he says it’s not my statement or interview, it’s not me who gave the interview,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Wisa had been granted bail and would reappear in court on Jan 13, 2016.
