Kaakie calls Shatta Wale a jerk over VGMA chaos

Ghanaian dancehall songstress, Kaakie has also commented on the much-hyped VGMA 2019 chaos by slamming the self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale.

The songstress is not in Ghana so she couldn’t attend the just finished Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019. However, after hearing about the Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy feud she couldn’t resist commenting on the matter. She made an exclusive video in which she called Shatta Wale a jerk for starting the fight.

Not only this, Kaakie also highlighted the fact that back in 2012 he did the same to her when she bagged the ‘Dancehall Artist of the Year’ award. According to her, if Shatta wants to win the awards that bad, he should really work hard on his music. Her video went viral in no time and has been getting the massive hype.

The Master of Ceremony for the just finished Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019, Kwami Sefa Kayi has recently appeared on an exclusive interview with the well-known host, Captain Smart. He highlighted the much-hyped VGMA 2019 chaos in detail as he was right there when the fight started.

It all started when Stonebwoy went to the stage for receiving ‘Dancehall Artist of the Year’ his rival Shatta Wale couldn’t stand it and went to the stage for fighting. The fans of Stonebwoy saw Shatta and started the feud and Stonebwoy pulled a gun.

For now, Sefa Kayi said that he was scared for his life when Stonebwoy pulled the gun, it was absolutely horrible. He also bemoaned the fact that everyone was there with their families and the event turned to be a huge chaos. He said, “I was frightened by happenings because it could have been anything. It could have turned into something very unpleasant especially when the free for all fight started on the stage.”

Sarkodie wins Artiste of the Decade Award

The self-proclaimed master of rap music, Sarkodie won the biggest title of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, ‘Artiste of the Decade Award.

You might be laughing at such a declaration because Sarkodie was the only artist who put the least effort to convince his fans to vote for him. Social media users were expecting the winner among Stonebwoy or Shatta Wale. Both of them made extreme effort somehow to grab a trophy. Even Stonebwoy spend a lot of money to provide free internet service so he will get a greater amount of vote.

For your information, the bigger authorities and most specifically fans submitted their final decision that there is no competition of Sarkodie. For this trophy, the musician clarified that no one worked better than him in the past decade. In this category popular songstress, Efya, gospel musician, Joe Mettle, R2Bees, No Tribe & Nacee, controversial musician, Shatta Wale, legendary musicians, Okyeame Kwame, Samini, Becca and Stonebwoy were also nominated.

No doubt musician contains most loyal fan following because without fans it’s impossible to chase such position. In his career, he rocked the music world with five hit albums. Names of these albums are The Highest, Mary, Makye, Sarkology and all times favorite Rapperholic.

Creative Arts Minister bemoans VGMA chaos

Ghana’s Tourism and Creative Arts Minister, Barbara Oteng Gyasi has also responded to the just finished VGMA 2019 chaos by saying that we failed. She clearly blamed her department as well as the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for not taking any serious action prior to the event.

According to the Creative Arts Minister, both the artists Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy and their fans were seen fighting to each other before the VGMA on the social media handles and no one did anything to stop them.

While speaking amid an exclusive interview she said, “There was a little failure on our part as the Ministry and the organizers. Prior to the event, we noticed some banter between the fans of the musicians on social media. It would have been better if they engaged them.”

It all started when Stonebwoy won the ‘Dancehall Artist of the Year’ award for the fifth consecutive time and his rival Shatta Wale couldn’t stand it so he went to the stage and Stonebwoy pulled the gun.

Sarkodie shares views on VGMA gun drama

The king of rap music, Sarkodie, at last, opened his mouth to highlight what actually happened at VGMA 2019. In his descriptive post, he added that what are the consequences of incidence happened at the biggest music night.

Sarkodie discussed that there is a major gap between the entertainment industry and the business world and his biggest dream is to collaborate both of them. According to him, this collaboration is the need of an hour. Although he understands that how much sense is dealing with the business world.

He added that he is still confused about the popular award, VGMA because that’s extremely crazy to conduct this level award show in Ghana. He said it now even harder because of deadly fight recently happened.

Further, he said conducted personal meeting the faculty of VGMA. They discussed how to run the show smoothly. The authority really needed a quick sponsorship at that time. Even the head of the organization, George Quaye was searching really hard to find a sponsorship.

“I think standards are very important in brand positioning … but sometimes to attain certain standards takes a lot of funds … And it’s about time those who invest in the industry understand what it takes so they know the value. From far just looking at VGMA, and since I’m doing concerts myself too, I know they need millions to achieve a certain standard… from security, artistes comfort and more.”

Jackie Appiah: Young stars should behave seriously

The title of the serial is ‘Things We Do for Love.’ The producer of many TV series, Jackie Appiah seemed sad about the fact that the young generation is extremely disrespectful towards a senior.

He opened the key to success as she stated that the young generation has to be patient plus God-fearing and most importantly humble and thankful. She said if they consider that they will disrespect the senior artist and generate controversy and they will get wanted hype. It’s the biggest mistake for their lives.

She set herself as an example that in the starting days of her career she used to brag about her position and references. According to her, the controversial media figure should minimize social media usage because some content writers are using their posts against them as a weapon. He added that no controversy, no social media hype, and no dis-respectfulness can help until you deliver your true talent with maximum hard work.

Musicologist: Shatta Wale’s ‘My Level’ isn’t Highlife song

The popular UK-based Musicologist, Professor John Collins unveiled a shocking statement as he stated that super hit song, My Level does not belong to Highlife genera.

Many music fans already expressed worries over the win of Shatta Wale’s super hit song, ‘My Level.’ At this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards edition, the song titled as ‘My Level’ of best Highlife song of the year award.

Many music gurus also questioned the decision and stated that it was unfair. At the same, UK-based Musicologist, Professor John Collins disclosed that as per music studies ‘My Level’ song lack the basic content on Highlife music. He expressed that he was equally surprised by the announcement.

He also questioned the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards authority that how the song appears in such category and its known fact that it does not follow highlife music rule. He said a lot of element was missing in the song. He clarified that he will not betray the Ghanaians he declared that after studying the notes of the song he came upon the decision that song truly belongs to Afro-Dancehall. He added that the following songs are also out of highlife music category: King Promise’s ‘CCTV’ and Kidi’s ‘Thunder.’ These two songs fall in Afro-pop category.

Shatta Wale’s management at last released official legal apology statement for all drama created on the stage of the 20th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Shatta Wale’s management truly apologized for all unfortunate incidence happened. According to them, they want to close this controversy for the sake of healthy music. Take a look on full note:

‘Management of Shatta Wale wishes to render a sincere apology to all patrons of the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), viewers of the event around the world, organizers of the awards, Charterhouse Productions, title sponsors, Vodafone Ghana and all Shatta Movement fans worldwide for the unfortunate incident that happened during the recently held VGMA.

We further apologize for all the inconveniences caused on the night and afterward. As planned and communicated to the organizers on the morning of the event, Shatta Wale was going to sit amongst his fans in the standard ticket section of the auditorium.’

On the other hand, the organization team of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is keen to reunite Shatta Wale. They requested Shatta Wale to rejoin the stage of VGMA to make its 20th edition memorable. So far the musician accepted the offer.

Edem: Stop comparing Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale

The legendary hiplife musician, Edem has given an ultimate solution to end the rising feud between legendary musicians, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale. He appealed media and fellow musicians to stop comparing both musicians.

According to him, when media compares both stars it produces the insecurities among them. He appealed media to stop this blame game. He made this statement as Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s feud hit the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards stage.

Media reported that Shatta Wale run toward the stage when Stonebwoy was receiving the award. As soon as he saw Shatta Wale coming towards him, he immediately put the gun out of his pocket. Everyone at the ceremony was terrified to even half of the audience panel leave the show.

Both musicians came up with sincere apology but Edem stated that:

“We are in a new era where we don’t have to interview people and ask them if artist A or artiste B; who is better? We have to change the narrative. We don’t have to compare people’s talents anymore. We just have to celebrate them.”

On whole controversy Head of Communications at Charter House, George Quay stated that:

“The police invited us. We reported. When something like this happens at your event, you report it to the police and we did just that.”

Wendy Shay declares New Artiste of the Year

The young and raising RuffTown Records signed artist, Wendy Shay was declared as the ‘New Artist of the Year.’ Last weekend the grand ceremony of Vodafone Ghana Music Award held in the capital of Ghana.

Everyone enjoyed the ceremony but one incidence made everyone sad. The two legendary musicians fought with each other on stage. However, both of them submitted their apology towards fans and charter-board.

The music diva accused of stealing late Ebony’s style, Wendy Shay this time stole New Artiste of the Year Award. The new artist marked her coin in the music industry almost a year ago. She rocked the music world with her super hit song, Uber Driver.

Quamina MP, KelvynBoy, La Meme Gang, Eddie Khae and DopeNation are few names nominated in the same category but Wendy Shay clarifies that there is no competition yet born for her. In a period of one year, she released some super hit songs like Shay On You, Uber Driver, Astalavista and Bedroom Commando.

While receiving an award, she thanked her fans and supporter. She stated that without their support it was impossible for her to reach such a position. Before her biggest achievement, the legendary musician Shatta Wale predicted that she will definitely win the game.

He appeared on an exclusive interview where he suggested the fact that the Charterhouse should ban Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy from the VGMAs for the next two years.

He said, ‘Let’s call spade a spade and that’s what Shatta Wale is. He promised to act like that if the things don’t go his way by posting on social media. Shatta was there to fight in the first place. However, Stonebwoy’s reaction of pulling gun was because he sensed danger. However, I’m not defending anyone and I think the organizers of the VGMA should ban Shatta as well as Stonebwoy from the VGMA for the next couple of years.’

Private Legal Practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has recently expressed the fact that he is utterly disappointed in Ghana Police for not doing any proper investigation before starting the Shatta and Stonebwoy’s court process.

Moreover, those defaulters are still not taking proper measures to make Shatta and Stonebwoy pay for what they did. Those defaulters include ministry of tourism and creative arts, Ghana Police and all management of the VGMA 2019.

He said, “I’m shocked the ministry of creative arts failed to help the organization with security and the security agencies also failed to put up security measures but I’m more disappointed in Ghana police and those who investigated this matter.”

Charterhouse bans Shatta and Stonebwoy from VGMAs

The organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse has finally taken action against the much-hyped VGMA 2019 chaos and announced it publically. It all started last weekend at the 20th edition of the VGMAs when Ghanaian dancehall artists, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy started a feud right on the stage and later even pull out a gun.

The Chairman of the 2019 VGMA Board, Amandzeba Nat Brew announced the sanctions at the press conference held on Thursday. Both the dancehall artists are banned from the VGMAs, they would not be able to perform at any of the VGMAs either. Moreover, their latest awards that they bagged at the just finished VGMA 2019 are also canceled and requested to return to the Charterhouse.

On the other hand, Shatta Wale has also announced that he will never be the part of any Ghana Music Awards from now onwards.

Shatta Wale makes blood oath on quitting VGMAs forever

Ghanaian self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale has recently announced that he would never be the part of any of the Ghana Music Awards from now onwards. His announcement is the clear aftereffect of the VGMA 2019 chaos and the response of the Charterhouse.

It all started at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019 that happened last weekend at the Accra International Conference Center. Shatta Wale got into a feud with Stonebwoy on the stage and he in return pull out a gun. The incident got viral and received major backlash from the general public, celebrities and country officials. So, Charterhouse has recently announced that they ban Shatta and Stonebwoy from the VGMAs, they will not be allowed to perform at the VGMAs either.

In return, Shatta Wale took to the social media and posted a picture of his bloody palm (blood oath) and captioned it as, “Upon sober reflections of events in recent times and having made broader consultations, I wish to announce that I will not be part of the Ghana Music Awards scheme going forward. God bless!.”

Charterhouse finally responds to VGMA 2019 chaos

The organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019, Charterhouse has finally responded to the VGMA chaos that was created by the well-known artists, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. No doubt, the Charterhouse has already announced the punishment for both artists but it never responded to the incident personally.

For now, the CEO of Charterhouse, Theresa Ayoade has expressed the fact that the VGMA 2019 chaos was unfortunate and surprising. She said, ‘It was the mega edition of the VGMAs because of its the 20th anniversary and we were supposed to be proud, happy and overwhelmed. Instead, we were shocked and angry. It seems like we waited 20 years only for this incident to happen. However, we haven’t stopped and will never stop to make things keep going’

Addressing Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, Theresa said, “These two artists didn’t think of the bigger picture but only themselves, that was bad on their part and I know they will live to regret.”

Sarkodie: Charterhouse is equally responsible for VGMA chaos

Ghanaian rap god, Sarkodie has recently raised very different yet important point while referring to the much-hyped VGMA 2019 chaos. The rap god expressed the fact that no doubt, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are the defaulters but Charterhouse is also equally responsible for the terrible incident.

He took to his official Twitter handle and posted a series of tweets referring to the incident. He said, “We can condemn our brothers on their acts but we can’t rule out the root cause that provided that environment for the unfortunate incident… Charterhouse can’t leave all the blame on the artists. NO!!”

Sarkodie also raised the point that the general public should never be allowed to be the part of the prestigious award ceremonies as they also created major hype after the feud. He posted that, “First of all, big award shows like the Grammys BET MTV etc don’t open to the public to just buy tickets and come to the event (and it’s for a reason )… it’s not a concert … first mistake by Charterhouse.”

Fashion related to the Yam festival

 Dressing plays an important in traditional Ghanaian societies. Because it is sign of honor, rank, regard, wealth and pride in traditional and medieval societies.

The Asologli’s of Ghana celebrate the famous Yam festival each year. There are many fairy tales and classical stories associated with the festival. The prime motive of celebrating the festival is to pay homage and tribute to God, for his blessings.

Costume, dressing and fashion are important components of the Yam festival. The Yam festival means so much to the Ghanaians.  They prepare weaving special dresses throughout the year. They are fond of dresses. And festival time is most auspicious moment to ‘show off’ in love and excitement.

Dark brown or reddish brown toga and smock are worn on the procession day at the Yam festival. The procession has to be complemented with unique but rather pale color to moment the sorrow and grieves associated with the particular activity.

Following the procession is a memorial. The dynamics of dressing changes accordingly. Black or brown drape cloth is used to mark death, decay and sadness.

Chiefs and elders along with general audience wears Dzono’s during their pilgrimage to Notsie.  Dzono’s are small cloth wrappings used around the neck, ankles or wrists.  They serve as auxiliary source of adding to beauty and flavor of the event.

Ghanaians are always keen to show off their best in colorful styles and traditional modes.  Clothes and festivals are so closely related to Ghanaians.  They are fond of festivals and clothes. Ghanaians are never shy of dressing up to their full potential. They pose and share moments of love, despair and emotions with utmost vigor and intensity.

NFB to take legal action against Black Panther

The Release of new movie of Marvel series, Black Panther seems to create some issues for marvel studios as the National folklore board of Ghana, NFB, has decided to take legal action against it as a very famous and well known traditional event known as Kente has been used in various scenes of this movie and folklore is of the view that such action has been taken without proper permission.

News gathered from different reliable sources the board of Marvel studios was asked to follow the legal channel of getting proper permission for the display of famous traditional fabric Kente in the movie which has set new records at the box office of earnings of 1.344 billion dollars till May 22, 2018.

NFB representative stated, “We are preparing a legal dossier.”

The board has started working on the preparation of the case which they have to put against the marvel studio’s Black Panther but they have not officially contacted the marvel studios yet on this issue.

Ms. Adobea Is very clear that they are not going for the deadlock in this matter as their stance is very clear on that, Ghanaian board will ask them for compensation as they did not follow the legal channel of getting copyrights permission.

But on the other side, they have clearly shown their intentions that if marvel studios do not corporate with us in this case then they should be prepared for worse scenario because they will sue the production house and the cast of the movie as well because the whole team is equally involved in this crime.
