Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian Dancehall artist, has met Charter House, coordinators of the yearly Ghana Music Awards, to present his songs for consideration for the 2016 edition of the awards (VGMA 2016).
The dancehall artist, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, was at the offices of the coordinators of the award show at the North Industrial Area, together with individuals from his management, to present his work.
Coordinators called for entries for the VGMA 2016 on January 1 however, it was vague whether Shatta Wale, who, the earlier year, had concerns with coordinators of the awards, Charter House, will submit his work.
The events company dragged Shatta Wale to court for posting four recordings considered defamatory on online networking.
The “Kakai” hit artist said he would not like to be selected for the awards this year however has subsequently altered his opinion.
He told the media in a meeting that he will present the songs just because his fans want him to do so.
Moreover Shatta Wale said, Well you know I’ve gotten calls all around and it’s mostly from my dearest fans, instructing me to overlook certain things and move with the framework, he said and included that his fans are the main individuals he listens to.
I feel they are my god and they truly pushed my music and get it to where it must be and I trust they made me who I am, so I told my crew subsequent to the fans are asking then how about we submit it. I’m a sort that doesn’t favor the awards, however, since the fans need it, we will submit it, whether we win or not, he included.
On Wednesday, the performer submitted 10 songs out of the 90, he released in 2015.
