George Nii Armah Quaye, PRO of Charterhouse Productions, the organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) has revealed that Board of awards scheme thought it insightful not to include musical artist, Mr. Eazi for this year’s music awards due to the fact that he is not a Ghanaian by blood just that he has been staying in Ghana for quite a while.
According to George Quaye, VGMA Award Scheme is only for Ghanaians artists, the only category for which non-Ghanaians can qualify is the award of African Artist of the year but unfortunately he didn’t qualify for that category too.
He further uncovered, “I’ve heard loads people discussing VGMAs not nominating Mr. Eazi in the different categories of award scheme. In any case, they ought to realize that the reason behind why we esteem it fit not to make him a vital part of the prestigious awards is that he’s not a Ghanaian by blood.”
He proceeded with, “Mr. Eazi is a Nigerian, and the one and only category he can qualify for is the African Artist of the Year and with that one he didn’t meet the criteria due to the fact that his impact on the African map is basically nothing to speak home about when compared with alternate musical artists in that category.”
The graduate from KNUST is the person behind the raving hit singles, titled “Bankulize” which features Pappy Kojo and ‘Skin tight’ which features Efya.
