Alkaline: I don’t like food, I eat herbs

Jamaican dancehall musician, Alkaline has revealed in an exclusive interview that he devours herbs in the place of food.

He said this while discussion on what Ghanaians should look forward to at tomorrow’s MTN Pulse Concert which will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“I don’t like food, I eat herbs”, he told the host.

Alkaline says his music signifies everything that society is scared of and society signifies everything that he is scared of.

He comes to the fore with a bunch of hardcore rhymes, slayer hooks and efficient production, and he’s undoubtedly ‘the Baddest” lyrist.

Describing himself as an ‘in di streets yute’, Alkaline, whose real name is Earlan Bartley, was born in 1993 in Kingston, Jamaica.

Alkaline first time wrote lyrics at such a tender age of ten, and by 12 he was already recording and producing his own songs to his father’s amusement.

He is a big Martin Luther King fan and in addition to loving “life” and his music he lists fashion, fishing and playing video games among his passions.

His style is not that of a usual artist, but one with a sort of urban edge with a twist hardcore appeal, one he names as dancehall meets urban pop rock culture.
