Ghanaian comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, famously known as DKB has noted that Ghanaians are not mature in the matter of politics.

Explaining why he does not want to do campaign for any political party despite of the amount involved, DKB said that politics in Ghana is described with all forms of abuses.

As stated by him, Ghanaians, unlike Nigerians will start bashing any entertainment personality who publicly announces his support for an opposing political party.

“In Nigeria things are totally different. Basket Mouth supports Goodluck Jonathan and his career is still intact. No one attacks him because Nigeria has matured when it comes to politics and society in general,” he said in an exclusive interview on Thursday.

DKB mentioned the case where John Dumelo was verbally abused after the actor announced his support for NDC and was afterwards spotted at the party’s rallies.

“John Dumelo publicly declared his support for NDC and today, all sort of negativity is being directed towards him. Ghanaians are not mature enough. Even the little jokes I crack about Mahama, they start attacking me with insults and all. That’s because they are not mature,” he noted.

When the interviewer asked if his statements meant he was concerned about his job, DBK replied in the negative saying, “It’s not about my career. I want to be able to bash NPP and NDC whenever I want to. I don’t want to have a provoking thinking.”
