Akunu Dake, Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Development Ghana, is insistent with government to be careful with plans to make young award winning Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah, an Ambassador.

As pointed out by Akunu Dake, although Abraham Attah has got a lot of success in a short span of time yet the government should be careful before taking any such step because Abraham Attah is not experienced in the showbiz industry.

He said a rushed decision could wipe out the potential talent.

His statement came after Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, disclosed that the ministry was thinking about making actor Abraham Attah Ghana’s Tourism Ambassador.

“I am really off the view that the young actor has done a great job and he must be encouraged for that but we need to be careful how we are going to handle him, so that we don’t destroy his talent and skills. There are many others who can promote Ghana in this way, Abraham is too young for such a responsibility,” he told in an interview.

On his arrival from the US, the manager of Abraham Attah recently revealed that he will be shifting to America to continue his studies under scholarship provided by Netflix.

Reacting to the decision, Dake said “I won’t stop anyone from getting further education, but I would have liked if he was sponsored to some of Ghana’s best schools so that he could get culturally groomed.”

He added that every so often Ghanaians are travel outside the country to live or continue their education in Western countries just to lose their cultural foundation.

The ‘Beast of No Nation’ actor has won three awards since he started acting in 2015 staring next to Idris Elba in the movie.

He bagged the ‘Best Male Lead’ award at the 2016 Independent Spirit Awards, then he won Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at Venice Film Festival 2015 followed by ‘Rising Star Award’ at the Black Film Critics Circle (BFCC).
